A pendant necklace is different from a choker in the way a long letter is different from a text message.
The choker says something precise and immediate. The pendant takes its time. It moves when you move. It rests against your chest when you are still. It falls differently depending on what you’re wearing, what you’re doing, whether you’re leaning forward in concentration or tilting your head back in laughter. It participates in your life rather than simply accompanying it.
This pendant holds a large natural amethyst sphere — 20mm or above, chosen individually for depth of color and internal character. The sphere is set using a traditional Chinese knotting technique, the cord wrapping the stone in a way that holds it securely without any metal hardware. The knot itself is part of the design: layered, textured, a small piece of handwork that frames the stone before releasing it into the long fall of braided cord.
The cord is available in three colorways, each braided by hand from multiple threads:
The first colorway braids purple, orange, and red together — warm and complex, the kind of combination that appears simple from a distance and reveals its detail up close. The second is grey, more restrained, with a delicate purple accent at the stone setting that echoes the amethyst without competing with it. The third is deep teal and emerald, a cooler palette that makes the purple of the stone more vivid by contrast.
All three hold the same stone. The stone itself — amethyst — formed in volcanic rock when silica-rich fluids cooled slowly, with iron compounds present during crystallization to produce the characteristic violet. No two spheres are the same shade or the same internal pattern. Yours will be unique to you.
This is adjustable — the cord slides through gold-tone tip ends at the bottom, allowing the pendant to rest at whatever length feels right. Near the throat for precision. Lower, at the chest, for something more open.
Natural amethyst sphere, hand-braided adjustable cord. Available in three colorways. Sphere approximately 22mm.
